Impact of the housing decree-laws on housing supply in Spain
We analyse the impact of Royal Decree-laws 28/2026 and 29/2026 on the supply of rental housing in Spain. Every day we run an automated extraction of the number of listings published on the property portal Fotocasa, in a series that starts on 6 October 2026, the day before the decrees were approved and the day the early election was announced. It is a study of supply only: it measures how many homes are listed, not their price, and shows how supply evolves by autonomous community, province and municipality and, in the larger cities, by district and neighbourhood.
